If you have been following my BLOG then you are aware that I have been diligently working on my Uncle Bob's book. It is soooo close to being finished!
Jonie White, a researcher and volunteer with the Huntsville Texas Museum did some digging for me and came up with the motherload of data from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice!
It has been time consuming yet sobering for me to go through the 100's of pages of data on the three Cline brothers. I was surprised that the data was still available from the 1950's and 60's. Because it was on microfilm some of the copies are difficult to read, yet the important documentation is clear.
While it was exciting to receive it, it was also very sobering and heartbreaking at times to see the mug shots and read through the pages. While reading it - I couldn't help but be grateful that these three men turned their lives around and had a successful post-prison life and rebuilt their reputations.
There are no family members left from that Generation. My Grandparents, Father and his nine siblings are all gone. Reading the legal documents brought tears to my eyes. Not just because of what they went through, but the reminder of how much I miss my large Texas family. Then, I become grateful that I have a strong faith in a loving God that will put an end to the sorrows we all face and better times are ahead. (Revelations 21:3-4)
